Alison has spent over 20 years of her career in basketball. She is originally from Maryland, but now resides in Jacksonville, FL. She has worked with 2 JUCO men’s basketball teams, the University of Delaware women’s basketball team, the Maine Red Claws (NBAGL), and has coached high school girls’ basketball. She has spent many summers coaching and directing basketball camps with a variety of NBA players and teams, as well as Jr NBA events for All-Star Weekends. Additionally, Alison has been fortunate to work with Tobias Harris (NBA) and the Harris family with one of his community outreach programs in Florida. Outside of basketball, Alison has worked in the public school system in Harford County (MD) and Duval and St Johns Counties (FL). She has also tutored many high school and college athletes.
The experience she has gained from working in both athletics and education led to the development of Bold City Sports for Change. Her passion is teaching athletes how to be better prepared for both their sport and life outside their sport. Alison’s approach is to help create or enhance athletic cultures that teach athletes the components of making smarter decisions and being better teammates, more effective leaders, and positive role models.
PJ, originally from New Jersey, has spent 10 years working in NCAA D1 basketball. He has spent most of his life in North Carolina, where he also attended college at Appalachian State University. During his college career, he was the founder of Appalachian State men's club basketball. App State was also the start of PJ's NCAA career where he spent several years as the video coordinator for App State women's basketball. PJ went on to work with University of Michigan women's basketball and most recently with James Madison University women's basketball. PJ has also had the opportunity to spend 2 years working camps with the Charlotte Hornets (NBA), as well as Jr NBA clinics for All-Star Weekend.
PJ's time in NCAA basketball was spent coaching and developing skills with players in every aspect of their game. He also specializes in video analysis. In his time in the NCAA, PJ has made Sweet Sixteen and Elite 8 appearances with University of Michigan women's basketball.
PJ is a strong believer in the importance of culture on the development of both athletes and staff. His experience in the NCAA brings a wealth of knowledge that will allow Bold City Sports for Change to have a greater impact on athletes, teams, and programs of all ages.
